Östra sjukhuset (Gothenburg) now recruiting patients for the REDUSE trial

(March 4) Östra sjukhuset in Gothenburg is the latest hospital to begin recruiting patients into the REDUSE clinical trial.

As part of Sahlgrenska University Hospital, with whom it merged in 1997, Östra sjukhuset serves the Västra Götaland region and is expanding rapidly to meet the growing healthcare needs of this area. Notably, Östra sjukhuset houses the Queen Silvia Children's Hospital, as well as recent additions to its facilities, including newly built psychiatry and addition clinics.

Östra sjukhuset joins the growing list of sites to participate in the REDUSE clinical trial, which is examining the effect of restricting fluid administration in septic shock patients versus usual care.
