(February 17) The REDUSE trial has begun recruiting patients at Helsinki University Hospital, Finland's largest university hospital and part of Finland's biggest healthcare network. This step marks an important milestone, representing its first inclusion of patients at an international study site.
Helsinki University Hospital is engaged in specialized healthcare and clinical research and acts as a central hub for the treatment of rare and severe diseases. Its heavy investment in these activities results in consistently high ratings for quality of care and patient safety.
The involvement of Helsinki University Hospital with the REDUSE clinical trial is a critical component in its methodology: by drawing patients from outside of Sweden, REDUSE hopes to increase access to a larger, wider range of patient populations, thus expediting recruitment and generating more robust results that are potentially applicable to a more representative and inclusive patient base.
